Creating a Search

Wizard waiving magic wand over computer

After choosing a topic and brainstorming keywords for your topic, you are ready to create a search using your keywords.

In order to communicate with databases to get information about a topic, you must structure your search so that the database will find the results you want.

For example, the topic:

What kinds of educational tests are most useful for students with learning disabilities?

as a search using keywords and connectors looks like this:

educational tests and students and learning disabilities

This is called a keyword search.
