Citation Styles

Once you have collected the citation information, you will need to format it. There are a number of different formats or styles for citations. Each style includes the same basic parts of a citation, but may organize them slightly differently. Also, sometimes you will use footnotes or endnotes, but usually you'll use parenthetical notation.

Which style you use depends upon the subject discipline you are working in and the preference of your professor.
